Since I know nothing about sportsball, I'll pick the Rabbitohs since they have a silly name.

A great day in Auckland, with beautiful sunny weather unless you were sitting in our area of the stand. Apparently sunlight can't penetrate meters of concrete and steel. I was fine but there were a few who may have felt a bit of a chill in the wind.
As far as the footy goes the Cowboys have cemented as the favourite for the comp after two commanding wins.
The hopes were dashed of a Finals berth for a number of teams on the opening day. These teams lost both matches and cannot mathematically make it into the play offs tomorrow afternoon: Warriors, Dragons, Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers, Sharks and Bulldogs.
As a lot of you know the War Machine contingent has a reasonably diverse group of Nrl teams we follow. All teams have been mentioned above and only one in the positive.
Oh well let's hope our teams win a game or two tomorrow to save face.
Go the Knights ;p
Eie

Well day 2 has been interesting. Still 4 teams in it at the time of posting.
Eels vs Panthers And Roosters vs Storm
The winners of those games play each other in the final.
That means Gim (Nanook), Spolix, Hummer and Moonbeam have a chance at the prize.

In the meantime we've had a great day with a few (gold) bets including a head to head bet for 15k gold.
That's skewed the pot but I'll post some overall winnings once I'm less inebriated enough to work them out.
Here's a few photos from today, including an almost (but not enough for copyright infringement) Blue Steel from Baynox.

Winnings position:
Moonbeam - Winner - 10,000g Spolix - Runner Up - 3,500g Nanook - Semi Final 1 Loser - 1,250g Hummer - Semi Final 2 Loser - 1,250g
I'll sort out gold when I get home.
From the bets at the game we had gold being thrown around for: - pick the first try scorer for each game - tipping comp for winner over the whole weekend - pick the winner and exact margin.
There was also the head to head bet between Dragons and Warriors.
Zuzu and Zesh split the overall tipping comp with 21 correct picks over 34 games. Nearra picked the winner and exact margin twice and Zuzu once Tina, Jay and Bannox all picked first try scorers 4 times but Bannox missed out on the opportunity of the accumulating bonus so won the least from this type.
The big winner for the weekend (other than the roosters) was Nearra who clears more than 10k gold. Zesh did well, primarily due to the head to head bet, but she also had to cover her son's stake so the net winnings were lower than Nearra's sitting at about 9,000.
Zuzu and I (Eie) almost broke even, with Zuzu making a modest profit 1,800g and I had a small loss of 1,800g
Otherwise the man paying all the bills is Bannox. All up he's going to have to fork out more than $20k.
A great weekend all up.

All Prizes, and a few bills, have been sent via in-game mail. If you believe I have not sent you the correct gold let me know and I'll work out what went wrong. Hopefully you had a bit of fun with it, keep an eye out for the comp to be run again next year Cheers Eie
