Nothing too special about this Les Paul. It was pretty beat up but I thought I would fix it up and decided to give it a paint job like this. Haven't sprayed the clear yet. I used an air gun for the base white coat and automotive can spray for the red, blue and black. I'm going to use an air gun to apply the final clear coats to it soon. Just thought I would share this with you all.

wow, I love the skull, that's awesome, did you draw that yourself or with a stencil? Either way it's really cool.

I drew it by hand first, then scanned it into my computer. After that I remade it in Illustrator and printed it out the same size of the guitar. I then used masking tape to mask off the back of the guitar and used carbon paper to trace the image onto the guitar. I used an arts-n-crafts razor knife to very delicately cut the lines in the image as to not cut too deep into the wood. Then I removed the masking to the parts I wanted to pain. That's about it.

That sounds painstaking, but worth it. Now you just gotta practise some way of showing off the back of the guitar while playing it!

i have started projects like this since i have been off work with my back. i did my guns up sanding them back and refinishing them which i did about 10 times coz i was never happy with it but it passes the time. I am going to start on my guitar soon as well but that looks sweet Anj. Probably wont do anything that flash just a flat matt black. What are you going to use as a clear coat?
