Wasn't a hacker...my mobo got fried. I need to exchange it tomorrow and reinstall it. I know how to install a mobo, but am a little shaky on if I will need to reinstall the OS as well as everything else. Also, it has been forever since I did this. I remember having to put some kind of paste on the CPU where i touched the heatsink.
Could someone give me some tips?

Unplug all cables remove cpu, and card to a non static surface. Put CPU on new board, add heat paste to cpu (1 blob less then half the size of your pinky nail) then clip on fan. Add memory to board then put board in case. Line up screws, remove any extra mount points and add any needed. Then add video card and plug in all power cables. power up and hope.
if you need to reinstall you will need to boot with cd in the drive.
Note adding a new board can cause boot up issues and you may have to reinstall anyway

Often I can change the hardware without reinstalling software (excepting devce drivers of course). Just be careful with how your handle your components, static electricity is a mother too...
Good luck man, very sad to hear about your mobo. Happens to the best of us, I've lost a couple in my day

Replaced the mobo...
Now I can't get past the BIOS screen...
It won't even let me enter setup.
I even booted with the OS disk in and nothing...
It just sits there on the BIOS screen (the one that has your mobo info displayed).
Ideas?

Man that REALLY sucks.
I assume the old mobo wouldn't boot at all? Now you get a POST. Sounds to me either you have another component that is stopping the boot process (*may* be determined by what you can/cant see working in bios) or you have a unreliable power supply. If the power fluctuates or is intermittent, running your board, vid card *and* drives could be too much. It would be good if you had another power supply to test the board/setup with.
An alternate problem I've seen is after an install, for some reason the bios sees the harddrives but wont read them. Sometimes a new windows install after the new hardware config seems to clear it right up... but I can understand not wanting to wipe data on a gamble. Has worked for me in the past, BUT if your config wont get past the post to detecting floppy/cd/hard drives...it may be moot.
This may sound like a dumb question, but did you re-check your cabling/jumper setup? That can keep you from detecting drives/booting to the os too.
Good luck man.
