There have been new guild ranks added, that of Raider, Veteran, and War Machine. The meanings have changed somewhat since previous use**.
Member denotes any normal member outside of a family/friends invite that's passed the trial status.
A Raider is a normal raiding member with normal attendance who is a dependable guildie for instances, pvp, or the like.
A Veteran is a *much* rarer title for Class or Raid Leaders and those raiders who distinguish themselves for long-term guild support or outstanding service.
The War Machine is a rare rank for those who perform extraordinary duties in service to the guild or its members. It was rarely granted for more than two weeks in the past (only 4 members have ever been War Machine rank), but now can become a permanent guild rank for a very chosen few.
**Our normal raiders will find it easy to move up to raider, but moving past that mark may be difficult until they've shown they can persevere and adapt to new situations. This will be easier for those with experience. If you think you've been misplaced, please speak to me.
*A word about Raid rules. I've been reading our forums and others, and although I dont believe we want to become a hardcore raid guild, we have been quite lenient on our members (compared to other guilds doing similar content). If we want to accomplish a few things before WOTLK, it's a good idea to set ourselves some goals and move toward them in a professional manner.
We've started insuring that raids don't get canceled, and guild members are alerted up to one hour before raid time (25 mans) about start times.
No one wants to institute any hard-line raid policy, but we do expect members to come when they sign up, bring and use the appropriate consumables/reagents, gems, enchants, and all the rest. Those who perform well will move up the ranks. Raiders who are repeatedly late may have to be bumped.. bumping selectively for performance reasons is not something that really fits our guild, so we'd rather not. Try to remember your team is depending on you, and they have repair costs/time constraints and all that too =).
Now if you know you are free... go sign up!
