We'd like to start Raid Leader training whereby those who are interested in leading can be backup Raid Leaders.
This entails seconding a Raid Leader (RL) during raids. This can be done multiples times with different Raid Leader in any instance(s).
This will incorporate a new guild title the "Lieutenant," or second. The RL and his second will be in conversation throughout the raid, working out invites, raidstats, changes, loot issues etc. The RL could then suggest how targets are dealt with, CC, how to handle breaks or loot concerns, anything technical.
The second, "Lieutenant" RL would field *all* the incoming tells the RL would normally receive, and help with anything else the RL was bogged down with.
Obviously a "Lieutenant" RL should be a player who's rank is member at least, and raid attendance is high.
In addition, although we like having a multitude of prospective competent RLs, too many people speaking at once gets quite confusing. So we'll institute a new protocol for speaking on vent, so that only the RL and second are able to talk once the pulling starts. This can be superceded in cases of emergency only. This would be real life emergencies, or taking damage, broken CCs, etc... but not simple tips or caveats, which should be whispered to the Lieutenant RL if somethings been overlooked.
This doesn't mean no conversation at all... just once the pulling starts we get quiet. The more progressed the raid, the more quiet/focussed the group. Once the pulls are done, and we're either running, on a break, whatever... we can get back to chatting it up . I expect this to be a learning process, so things will be a bit lose at first.
Please post or email an officer if you'd like to be a Raid Leader .
