Now with daylight savings time, 830 ST is now 630 PM real time for me. That being said, I will most likely not be able to consistenly make the current raid start time. The earliest I would be able to log on a consistent basis is going to be 915 ST.
Just putting that out there and wondering if we could make some adjustments maybe once or twice a week.

Similar situation here for me. I think Cast is Korea and I'm in Japan, same time zone... so about earliest i can make a raid is 9pm st (7pm local), but that I can do at least.
I dont mind showing up early if it works for most. My question would be:
"Does the 8:30 st raid still suit everyone? Anyone need it earlier, is it fine, or should we bump it back?"

I actually like the earlier times, but I'm easy. Might I suggest moving it 30 minutes later to 9PM server. It's 30 minutes earlier for us non daylight savings people, and 30 minutes later for those who do observe.
Because our locations are so diverse, everytime you move it at all, you're generally going to prevent one or two people from raiding unfortunately. I would like to see what the "core" raiders opinion is, though.

Well in my mind there are really 2 issues currently - I think they are related though. First is the trouble people are having with daylight savings. The second (and the one that causes me more concerns) is the length of time its taking to get raids up and going.
Sunday it took almost until 9:30 to actually pull. Thats just far too long. Now unquestionably some of this is due to the fact that a few of our dependable attendees are unable to get on until a bit later (also the 400 person queue on Sunday didn't help). On the flipside some of our other dependable raiders can't stay on later (particularly on Sunday).
I know how tedious it is to hang around in the raid group for 50 minutes while we put the group together - believe me, its no more fun for me trying to get it together.
I had personally thought along the same lines as you Bad - lets push the start time back to 9pm provided that we actually make a concerted effort to be ready at start time. This won't work if we don't pull until 9:45 cause we will lose as many people as we gain by moving the start back.
Practically this means:
* have your consumables ready to go at start time
* have your UI up and running - I know at the moment this is a problem but if I could ask one thing its that you spend the time on your frames etc prior to raid time
* we give a warning that invites are coming in 5 minutes - please take that seriously and actually hand in dailies and drop groups. I have noticed that there is an increasing tendency to stay out of group or to stay on alts for a while. It really does slow start time down because I don't know what we need to pug.
* please don't sign-up just to hold a place if your not actually intending to come. We try and hold raid spots for people who have signed up to come. Time and again I see 26+ people signed up but only 15 on at raid time (and even then 5 of them don't come).
* if you have a friend that really wants to run a certain raid we have scheduled let me, Bad, Raks etc know. We almost always end up pugging a few and I would be happy to give preference to a pugger who we knew was coming (eg Sotnos) - obviously we would prefer them in guild though if possible.
* on Sunday specifically - particularly for those who will make it on near to start time - if at all possible please log in earlier. Even if you immediately afk until your available - it would help a lot if we knew your toon was on and coming.

In any case, I will plan on getting ready the night before and prepositioning Castus at the raid entrance. I will also plan on logging in to the server early to account for queue times. That way my lead in time will be minimal.
Even after all that, I still will be on between 9-9:15 PM ST at the earliest. I have two little girls and family comes first.
Other than that, there is not much else I can do. I know I am only one guildie and it may not matter to most. The guild seems to have plenty of tanks to fill the ranks. I understand if the majority of the guild like the early times. If it's too hard to adjust and we end up losing more due to later start times than we gain from it, you absolutely shouldn't switch. I know all about utilitarianism and the greater good. If that's the case, it's all good. I can find other things to do.

Unfourtunatly Raiding is just not easy for me at the moment. Between work and friends visiting from out of town. I am able to play but not consitantly for raiding ect... This won't change much untill november first when they head home. at that point i should be able to make a raid or 2 before the expansion hits.
