An issue has been raised over what the guild would prefer to raid now that LK is looming, we have been buffed significantly and the raids apparently nurfed to the point that we have a realistic chance of downing most bosses we would wish to set our minds too. The only exceptions i can see are a) BT past the fifth boss (mother) as it requires full shadow resist sets and b) Sunwell, which is perhaps more complex and difficult than its worth, though possibly i have heard Brutallis may be within reach.
The question then, is how we want to spend our last few raiding weeks before the expansion hits, I for one and others I know intend to continue raiding for enjoyment purposes, despite the gear being soon obsolete. But which bosses should we down? What do you want to have completed before the expansion reduces it to a ZG style slaughter fest which can be done with a tank a healer and someone to tear the mobs apart?
What we need to decide is our goal, do we want to down as many bosses as possible before the expansion? The highest level bosses? Aim to get the best loot to have for leveling? My own opinion is that the gear is irrelevant, as it will be replaced by greens, if its at 73 or 74 makes little difference to me, on the other hand i would like to see more content before it becomes obsolete, but specifically i would like to see the more impressive content BC has to offer, quality rather than quantity.
With this in mind and considering our limitations (Kil'jaeden may still be beyond reach...) I would like to focus our efforts on two of the signature fights of the Burning Crusade that we have access too, and a reasonable chance at. Lady Vashj and Kael'thas Sunstrider. These two are perhaps among the most interesting, intense and entertaining fights in the game to date and i would, for myself, like to be able to say that we had done those fights, at level and in a full guild raid, more so than being able to say we downed x number of random bosses no one recalls. The fight is never quite the same after you surpass it completely and these are fights i would like to see at their best.
So I'm asking for feedback really, you know my view and I would like to get a feel for what the guild opinion is, i would like to have Vashj and Kael attempts, but it will likely take time to learn and perfect more so than other, simpler fights we will often one-shot for more loot. If we do indeed want to keep raiding to the bitter end do we want the challenge, the numbers or the loot?
Any feedback would be good, even if its only an "I agree with that guy" or "Kel's starting to sound overly huntardish, please stfu" for an indication of numbers.
