Hi guys - the new talents have hit us with the usual flurry of broken UIs, macros and errors. Some stuff has changed a lot - some stuff not so much. This complexity is doubled for me - raid time Saturday is going to be interesting[/b]. At the moment we are intending to raid Hyjal Saturday night and BT Sunday. Read some boss strats etc. To help me out and to just chat about cool new things I thought I'd put a thread up where you can chat about the new talents. Here's what would really help me - how effective are the new healing talents? how are tanks finding the removal of crushing blow - what about threat generation post salvation? Any other info from DPS'ers about what spec is working best would also be really helpful

So in relation to the above, my thoughts from a H SV and a H SP run:
* Recount is not functioning correctly - the dps numbers are far too low for the swathe of destruction we created last night. Even when running with 2 tanks, a healer and a lv 64 / 65 in H SP things were going insane. With 3 raid level DPS I was getting 2 casts off per mob.
* Tank threat generation is just ridiculous. Bob exceeded 2K TPS in H SP. On a warrior (the new warrior threat redirection talent is awesome). Castus has always had crazy TPS but we couldn't pull off him even if we cheated and opened up before he attacked the mobs.
* The talk about all tanks having good AOE tanking skills is true - Bob's warrior tanked 7 of those Bogstalker things at once and held threat off my arcane explosion spam.
* Downranking heals has hurt mana efficiency - the application of a universal mana cost for healing spells will change the way healing works. This is a benefit to pallies (and probably druids too) because they tend not to downrank as much. Priests and shammy's are going to feel it hurt though.
* The new itemisation (and removing crushing blows) has changed some of the armour and defense stats. That being said it seemed to me like the tanks were taking substantially less damage than before.
* Beacon of light is a bit buggy - its not clear how effective this talent is but its not seeming to work exactly as intended.
* Arcane mages still struggle without significant investment in either fire or frost - there is no main nuke in the arcane tree.
* the new buffs in the mage and lock trees are awesome - focus magic procs of healing crits as well I believe.
* Glyphs are over-priced and, in many cases, not that good. The price of the glyph does not seem to correlate at all with its usefulness.
If we get into ZA tonight I imagine we will learn quite a bit about more about how these things work.

Since all the current Glyphs are using pre BC and BC mats there are likely going to be very few useful ones till WOTLK. Not sure about other classes but Mages will be getting a glyph that increases fireball dmg by 5% .

So last night's ZA run, how do I describe it? You remember the first time you walked into Stockades as a lv 40 and everything you looked at fell over dead?
That was ZA last night. Got the 4 timed chests about 2 mins left on the timer (with 3 healers - not that we needed them with Apo doing 1800 hps and poor little Quincy doing 1600. Pallies FTW baby).
1 shot Zul'jin (except for the lolnoob wipe where some slow dps were stuck outside), we should have 1 shot Hex Lord but for noobing it twice when he was on less than 4k health. We got Lynx boss down in 2 minutes...
A good portion of this was the massive nerf - it also helped that the healer output had essentially doubled and the DPS was up 30% or more.
In light of this I think we can reassess our goals between now and the end of BC. We are a realistic chance of smashing a good portion of BT. If there are any specific bosses that you want to see, your not ever going to get a better chance than now.
With that in mind read up on all bosses in MH for Saturday and at least the first 2 in BT for Sunday. I am expecting utter carnage.

I got on late, but heard about it. Awesome stuff - congrats!
Up to the team, but we may want to spend more time in Bt/Hyjal next week instead of doing anything else. I expect we could truly plow content if we could get the people online. Up to you guys but how about four days of the goodstuff?
