Well... it's that time my friends, As most of you already know, Uldir was my last raid with War Machine. It saddens me to say this given I have been with this guild for over 7 years, however starting raids at 10:30pm is a young mans game and something I can't keep up with. I thought long and hard about what to do and to be honest it's something that was weighing on my mind all through Legion and perhaps before (as many who know me well will attest to). I've been applying and trialing and have found a guild which suits my very specific and needy requirements. They raid Wednesday and Sunday at NZ based hours, to put that into perspective I am finishing raid about the same time War Machine starts. The first night I raided with them I had no idea what to do with myself afterwards. I imagine it will take a while for my patterns to reset. They are even going to let me tank!! Which they won't find out was a bad idea until much later... Raiding in General: I thought about not raiding and staying with the guild, however I simply can't get around that fact that I like raiding and want to raid (*plus I need the gear for M+ runs... FTW). Also, I would also feel regret about spending my hard earned dosh on a sub and not getting the most out of it. That being said, once raiding is not longer a thing for me or I simply want to raid only occasionally (job change, circumstance change, etc.) I will likely be back in the fold. This assumes I am successfully in my interview with WM of course. Though given the riff raff they've let in lately I should be a'ight . To sum up the experiences I've had with you fine people I have a brief list ⦁ Downed my first end game boss ⦁ learned to tank ⦁ didn't learn to heal ⦁ became recruitment officer ⦁ became raid leader ⦁ became GM/co GM ⦁ demoted myself to raider leader ⦁ demoted myself to officer ⦁ caught up IRL with tonnes of guildies (thanks for the bear hug Jay, I'l never be the same) ⦁ server first challenge modes ⦁ had territorial boomkins rage quit the guild ⦁ downed my first Mythic boss ⦁ achieved AOTC (like heaps) ⦁ made life long friends ⦁ felt at home... always It's been an absolute pleasure being part of this amazing guild and I wish each and every one of you the best. As of this weekend I will be transferring my DH and DK to Frostmourne and removing my Monk and Mage into the friends and family guild I have on Dath. I'd like to leave the remainder of my toons in WM though, more specifically my Paladin Bannox, who I spent the most amount of time with WM on. I certainly understand if this is not possible, though I hope it is. I will still be aorund in discord from time to time while hitting up the Mythic keys, and I really hope you all stay in touch. My Battletag is Bannox#6566. This is Bannox, saying 'So long and thanks for all the fish!'

Hey Bannox, it's been a pleasure gaming with you in War Machine for so many years. Appreciate all the fun times that have been had and everything you've done for the guild, all the raids I've been apart of with you leading or just participating in. I wish you all the best, as we all enjoy the game the best way that suits our own needs, and will see you around time to time.

GL with the future Ban. Thanks for all your help you've given me in the time I've been here, even if we haven't always exactly seen eye to eye (wait, you're blind!) it's always been appreciated how you've jumped in and helped with info or a spare character, you will be missed. Good luck with your future endeavors! Misty

Oh BanBan! What more can I say than that is has been an absolute pleasure. You helped my old guild when we were struggling to form our raid team, and slowly but surely enticed the best of us into your ranks, while being super patient with my reluctance to leave my current home and safe space, but i have never felt more welcome into a guild than when i Joined War Machine - and i know that is in a large part due to you. Thank you for always being there whenever I have needed you (and putting up with me sometimes being highly emotional!) and for always listening to how I felt or what I was finding difficult. You handled everything so diplomatically and fairly and have always made new guildies super welcome. Thanks for being the best raid leader I have ever have. Gimm has some big shoes to fill! (But I believe in him cause y'no, he plays the correct class....). I hope you pop in and say hello as often as you can, you have my real ID - feel free to hit me up for fun times - or really bad jokes Rock on, and I hope your new guild is radical! ( Though they will never be as radical as us!) Love from your favourite (only!) kitteh!

All the very best mate.
You know you wanted more than a bear hug.
Your turn to visit next time, even if it's in the general vicinity and we come to you.
May all your kills be one-shots, may your Lich King forever go down for you. (just kidding)

A large part of why I've enjoyed raid nights in the last few years has been the banter between the team, and a big part of that has been you Bannox (and others, but let's not get too soppy now I'm a bit in my cups). I'm sad to see you go, but I understand the challenge of juggling game time with real life priorities. Best of luck with your future Warcrafting, and rest assured in the knowledge that if you ever want to come back, your leaving will weigh heavily against you. You'll still probably get in, but on a trial basis. As a healer. On the bench.

What I meant to say was:
Thanks for everything you've done for the guild Bannox. Not only have you been a fantastic officer and guildie you've also been a good friend over the years. How else could we spend so much time together and only occasionally argue over something. You'll be missed.
Not even going to try Kio #nochance

First off, a correction Bannox - you've been here (almost) 9 years. I went back and checked your original application to be sure.
While I was there, I noticed this in your answer to the "what brought you to War Machine" question:
That may have been what you were seeking with us, but really you yourself played a huge role in making the guild a place where this is the reality. You stuck it out through a lot of great times (and some less so), you stepped up when needed and helped me get a handle on what I was doing in trying to lead this herd of cats, and - let's be honest - doing my job for me longer than you really should have, and you helped fill our ranks with fine people (and guilds...) Without you, the guild wouldn't be what it is today.
And while I'm sure the guild will agree with me that we'll feel your loss, your work has also prepared the guild for your departure, in a way. Whether by design or just as a result of you doing you, you helped the guildies (myself included) get to a point where the values you championed will carry on without you. This, more than anything, is the legacy you'll leave with War Machine, and one you should be proud of.
On a personal note, over the 9 years you've become a very good friend, both in WoW and outside of it. Good long-term friendships are hard to find and I know ours will continue regardless of what guild you're in.
Best of luck in your new guild and new raiding schedule. My one regret is we couldn't force the New Zealand time zone on those filthy Aussie guildies.. oh well, one day. There'll always be a spot with us for a loot-magnet pally.
I'll leave you with the last line of your application:
Heh. Sounds about right.
- Dak

I joined WM at the end of BC. We were raiding Kara, Onyxia, Mag's, Gruuls, and stuff. Half way through WotLK, a bunch of us decided to leave after some "management issues." We went through a few high end guilds, then formed our own, but in all that time I kept coming back as a PUG to heal Nax, Icecrown Citadel, and others. Then in Cata, I decided I should never have left WM in the first place, I should have stayed and ridden out the hard times. So I came crawling back, and was interviewed by Bannox and Dakhan. Just because I was an ex-WM player didn't give me any brownie points, but I convinced them I was still WM material and I've never strayed. In all that time, I've known Bannox to be a patient, tolerant raid leader and a diplomatic Officer and GM.
I have always enjoyed playing this game, but playing it within WM, with Bannox to annoy with bad Hunter pulls or a Healer who just HAS to stand in the fire, has been a pleasure. I've been absent of late, what with retirement, car stuff, books to write, but I have not let my account lapse. I just can't do it. So I just wanted to add my two cents worth Bannox, to say that you will be missed, but you will leave behind a legacy that has ensured WM remains the longest living guild in the game. It's your influence that has brought out the best talent to take over from you, not only in the skills required to play the game, but in dealing with the many and varied personalities that make up this fine guild.
Have fun in your new guild, you deserve it.

I recently caught up with Dak and he mentioned his post on this thread. I was all 'what are you talking about?'. Then I came back to have a look and it turns out there were heaps. I must admit it bought a wee tear to the eye. Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. Although I love the new raid times I really miss WM people terribly. Still, none of us are dead so we'll catch up again soon. On moonguard. In the lions pride Inn. Waiting in a line... for reasons.

Bannox I'm sorry this is so late, was away for 6 weeks over the school holidays. Just reading all the posts saying goodbye to you brought a tear to my eye. Ok so going back to Feb 7th 2012, you took pity on me and invited me to WM and I learned just how much of an honour it was to be a part of this guild. I thank you, Zesh and Gim for that I wish you all the best with your new Guild and many happy raids with the much needed sleep you will get raiding at a earlier time. Something us older people need lol I will miss listening to the banter, laughter and just that beautiful radio voice of yours hehe. kind regards Haysha*
