Greetings,
Every expansion a group of intrepid adventurers race the clock, and each other, in an attempt to be the first person in the guild to reach the new level cap. Past expansions have launched late in the evening limiting this race to the most ummmmm......dedicated people. HOWEVER with an 8am launch this release, there is a chance for more people to join in the carnage. Some of the things to look forward to in joining our race include but are not limited to: Severe Malnutrition Deep vein thrombosis Dehydration Square Eyes Soul crushing glances at the guild tab Caffeine highs and lows The comfort of an adult diaper 9-12 hours of staring unblinking at your computer screen The absolute desolation of seeing someone else get there first OR the amazing feeling of getting there first And MUCH MUCH moreIf this sounds like something you would like to get involved in please reply to this post. There will be a small entry fee of 10,000g with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Details of who will collect the entry fee will be released at a later date.
Bannox wrote an amazing piece on launch day here : What To Expect When You're Expecting.....an Expansion It's a bit outdated in terms of the game, however still eerily accurate to the minds processes throughout leveling.
Cheers Officers of War Machine

Unfortunately I have a workshop I must attend which means I wont be able to log on until about 6pm at the earliest.
I was soooo going to win. Even had bounties organised for Bannox and Gimm tomorrow to ensure they didnt win.

Dang it Cy! I did hear you mentioning that plan last night on Hummers stream, spent the whole of last night organising pvp protection. All for nothing. I'll send the 10k back to you at some stage

Well what a great race. Nanook was in front the whole way up to level 119, but the lead was being whittled away every level by Baynox. In the end his staying power was just too great and he came away with the win. Baynox dinged 120 after about 10.5 hours, at that time Nanook was at 97% though 119. Sooooo close. Misslibby was steady through the whole race and dinged 120 a couple of hours later. Well done to all who participated, and thankfully there is a couple of years between these to recover.
Prizes are as follows and will be sent out ASAP 1st - Baynox 60,000g 2nd - Nanook 25,000g 3rd - Misslibby - 15,000g
Cheers Gim

Congrats to the winners! Honestly, I don't know how they do it. I'm retired, and I can sit and level up all day, but I am still on 113. I am in awe.
