So I have a band that I play in. I play guiter (not very well), as well as sing vocals (that also not very well), and this is what we did on Thursday 10, 2013.
We've played in a few events in the past. We played at a Summer Fest in July this year, but from then on, we haven't played or practiced once. We were asked to play for a live house's 15th year anniversary and I thought we had declined since our drummer moved to the mainland and I was still recovering from pneumonia. Well, the weekend before the event, the local newspaper listed the information of the anniversary party's play guide and our band was listed. "Great!", I thought, "We're screwed. So we scrambled together a drummer and I tried to set up a practice session and a studio to get some practice in. I just so happen that the day I set up a practice session at a studio, a typhoon comes rolling across our island. Least to say, we couldn't practice...
Fantastic! We're going to go into this event with not a single practice under our belt. I was flipping. No one's work schedule lined up and I thought we're screwed. But, low and behold the light shined upon us. Two days before the event was the owner's birthday. As I was attending the birthday party of the owner, I see our previous drummer there. He said he was in town for family business and I told him our predicament. He promptly said, "Let's practice tomorrow and do it on Thursday." Our lives were saved.
We practiced the next day, considering the songs we could play with such a short notice, and we decided on 4. We practiced for 2 hours, and that was it. So here's our performance. Please don't laugh. Well, you can laugh if you want, but I'm happy with how we performed, considering.
