I don't know whether I should scream my objections from the rooftops or whether to quietly contemplate the ever-changing environment we play in.
I noticed at least one Hunter in our guild (no names, but his initials are Sophdog) was playing without a pet. IN A RAID! I thought to myself, "I must warn that Hunter that he hasn't called his pet," but, of course, I didn't want to call him out and make him look silly.
No way!
Not me!
I didn't see the bit in the 6.0.1 release notes under "Hunters" that announced the Lone Wolf spec. Selective reading perhaps?
The thought of a pet-less Hunter just doesn't bear thinking about. I've had that disappearing Tiger at my side since I tamed him in Stranglethorn when I was a mere puppy of a Hunter, about level 30 or so. It was a difficult time for me. The Tiger was Sin'Dall (I think) and wasn't easy to tame. I named him "I'm With Stupid" and he has been my main pet ever since. The thought of adventuring without him makes my bottom lip tremble with emotion. Another pet that I worked hard for was the Wind Serpent/Dragonhawk, which was a Taxi that you could tame without aggroing the other Taxis in the vicinity of the Horde Dragonhawk Master in Crystalsong Forest. I named him "Loretta", because he had the RIGHT to have babies, even if he didn't have a womb.
So many memories!
I just can't do it. Hunters are MEANT to have a pet at their side, accidently aggroing mobs, taking the Tank's aggro from them because we left Growl on, getting in the way of mail boxes, and being the meat in our Questing sandwich.
Soph - how COULD you!?
[Poppachoc throws himself, sobbing, into his pillow]
