This has been up in the officer forums for a month or more, so it's overdue. It's posting *in no way* signals a more 'hardcore' impetus in the officer corp or the raid goals.
Here's our post:
If you want to be part of the Raiding team, you must read and agree with this, the "Raider Code of Conduct," and then tell an officer that you want to be a raider. The expectations for being a raider are as follows:
1. If a Raider is online when the raid is forming for a scheduled guild raid, the Raider must make himself available to raid. The exception to this is when real life prevents raiding - for example, constantly having to go AFK, internet problems, etc. In this case, just tell the raid leader "sorry, unable to raid tonight - RL issues," and it will be left at that.
2. A Raider will not become saved (i.e. PuG) to content that we are scheduled to raid that week, unless he is reasonably certain that he will be unable to attend that raid.
The benefit of being a Raider is that he will get priority for raids. The only exception to this will be that if, in the raid leaders judgement, choosing someone else over a Raider will GREATLY impact the success of the raid's progression (i.e. very poor class composition, very new raid member with insufficient gear, etc.).
The rank of Raider is not necessarily permanent. If a Raider needs a break, he may request to be demoted to Member for however long he wishes (although frequently changing ranks will be frowned upon). Also, the guild leadership reserves the right to demote people who they believe are not meeting the intent of the of the above expectations.
Hopefully, this will help keep us moving in the right direction. Happy raiding!
edit: shortened that title
