[EVENT] The Cupcake Challenge

A challenge has been thrown down to the man who says he can eat any amount of anything at any time. Your main spec healer… BOOMTREE! What is the challenge, you ask? Booms Magnum Opus will be to eat twelve cupcakes from the Delish Cupcakes store. These awesome tasting perfectly made pockets of pure sugary heaven are great… in moderation… but BOOM intends to slam all twelve back within sixty minutes. This task may seem easy to the casual observer but I assure you it is anything but. The flavors chosen for this event are Pineapple Lump and Chocolate Gnash. These are two of the heaviest and most flavor filled cupcakes they serve. Come… why not wage a copper or two?

Details of the event:

On Saturday, 10th December 2011 at 8pm server time Boomtree will be in front of a camera for the full sixty minute eating competition or until the event has been completed. The video footage will be streamed live to a predetermined web address given out shortly before the event starts. All members wishing to watch the event will also have access to the Mumble channel to speak directly with Boom while eating.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Challenger must eat all TWELVE cupcakes within SIXTY minutes averaging ONE cupcake every FIVE minutes
  • Challenger is allowed 250mls of any liquid of his choice which must be prepared before the event
  • Challenger must remain in line of sight of the camera at all times during the event
  • Any regurgitation that escapes the mouth will be considered a fail of the challenge – the number of cupcakes previously consumed will count as the final tally
  • Cupcakes must not be adjusted before the event
  • Cupcake wrapping must contain an acceptable minimum of residual cake when unwrapped as defined by the judges
  • The final cupcake eaten will need to be visually verified with an open mouth inspection by both judges
  • All gold wagers are final and will be taken on the odds as they are submitted
  • Odds may change to reflect betting patterns but will not alter bets already placed
  • This is a non-gambling event so all bets must be placed using virtual World of Warcraft gold
  • Minimum bet is 5g
  • Maximum bets for each option will be detailed with the betting odds
  • All bets will need to be placed in-game through mail to Bannox with both the gold and the required betting option
  • All bets need to be placed no later than two hours before start time
  • As a not for profit event all gold made will be used for guild maintenance
  • All successful gold bets will be paid within 72 hours of event completion

Is it possible to have Boom logged on to WoW & have him staring at Al'akir at the same time?
This could result in a messy (yet funny) video stream :D

Just to clarify - the gold listed to the above betting options is a return on investiment.

Example:

You bet 100g on Boom completing the challenge. At the current return of 1.3g would would recieve 130g if he manages to do it.

The reason we have limited the amount of money we can provide for each option is to ensure WM does not go broke to Zesh or Thraul :)

Oh there will be voimting involved, I intend to vomit immediately after the event so I can avoid the Sugar Rush and Crashed debuffs (for further information on these debuffs, please see my Cupcake boss raid guild in the other thread). ;D

That is soooo wrong, And I don't think that would work in this situation. I believe it would have to be 1 Boomtreee and 2 cupcake cups

It's all maths really.

There's around 150 calories in your standard iced cupcake. Assume these ones are special and there are 250 calories in each.

Your average decent size bloke can put away 2500 calories in a day without breaking a sweat. 12x250 is 3000 calories which should be fairly straightforward with no food for a few hours beforehand on the day of the challenge.

I'd go so far as to wager all my gold that Boom will do it easily and probably go for the 13th as well. I reckon you could do 18 in 45 minutes if pushed ;) Lucky for me I'm not in NZ ay ;)

I don't think the maths works quite that simply, Rob. A year's worth of showers all taken in one go would be a drowning, no matter how long since they'd bathed. We're dealing with a serious dose of simple carbohydrates. Of course insulin will help to dampen the effect. Let's hope his pancreas is fit! Go pancreas, go!

Oh, and then there are other triggers of nausea. Have you stocked up on seasick tablets, Boom?

i have a good challenge for Anj its a beer drinking on it might be a bit hard
you start off with a 12 pack and you get 12mins to drink the first one and then 11 mins for the second one, 10mins for the 3rd one and so on the last one you get 1 min to finish it you cant drink them any faster then the time that is on that beer number so you cant drink the first one in 1min and then start the second one and you have to have toilet breaks in between drinks but you cant take a drink with you so say you really need to go drink number 8 you have to finish drink 8 and have a bio with in the 8 mins

To those that didn't bet on 8, sorry I let you down. I shall name my next toon Failcake. I will need to go back to the distant place, where that temple was, to study under that monk again for further training.

This is the second food item that has defeated me, the first was a steak from a place called Angus Steakhouse, where I ordered a "biggest, badest" steak you got....I ate it over three meals. I was living at Bannox's at the time, Mel may have witnessed Round 3. LOL

I shall conclude that this round of fun times backfired in my face. :'(

You'll be pleased to know boom that no one has completed that challenge with delish cupcakes. It would be foolish to understimate just how hard it really is. It was a ready good attempt.
